About Salt Creek Ranch

A working ranch near Umpqua in Douglas County, Oregon.

Who We Are

Salt Creek Ranch & Co. (Salt Creek Ranch and CO LLC) is run by William Koehler near Umpqua, Oregon. Raising animals is what we do every day, from cattle on grass to a yard full of chickens and ducks.

We raise grass-fed cattle, and keep a flock of about 60 Katahdin ewes (some KHSI-registered), a herd of Spanish goats (a buck plus black, fullblood Syfan-bloodline does and doelings, DNA-registered with the Spanish Goat Registry) and Alpine does, a string of Packer pack goats (7 pack goats, a Packer buck, and 12 Packer nannies with kids at side), and around 30 chickens and 5 ducks.

Life on the Ranch

It’s not all chores. Between family time on the porch, the old tractor, the bucking barrel and days out on the water, there’s plenty of fun too.
